Example of non smoker accounts.

How many people who smoke even a humble 20 a day realise the true cost?  And don't forget my friends, it mostly goes to the government in taxes. I can't think of a better reason for giving it up. These are the facts. You can choose to ignore them and make all sorts of excuses for smoking on.  I've heard them all before. There is no way to justify putting your health at risk to pay this amount of tax.

The average price of  tipped cigarettes is taken as £4.50 for 20.  Most people will pay more. I have not considered the inevitable rise in the cost of  cigarettes each budget for these calculations. The following figures are based on a totally safe government backed Individual Saving Account which pays an average of 5% interest per year tax free.

20 cigarettes per day cost £1642.50 per year. If you invested this amount every year, your investment would be worth £21,254.26 in 10 years or  £56,260.23 in 20 years. If you stop now you've a much better chance of living another 20 years to spend it. Or you could always go on coughing yourself to sleep and put it all up in smoke.

30 cigarettes per day cost  £2463.75 per year.  If you invested this amount every year, your investment would be worth £31,881.39 in 10 years or  £84,390.35 in 20 years. If you stop now you've a much better chance of living another 20 years to spend it. Or you could always go on coughing yourself to sleep and put it all up in smoke.

40 cigarettes per day cost £3285.00 per year.  If you invested this amount every year, your investment would be worth  £42,508.52 in 10 years or  £112,520.47 in 20 years. If you stop now you've a much better chance of living another 20 years. Or you could always go on coughing yourself to sleep and put it all up in smoke.
